Who operates it
DCF is written and operated by the Omniverse Compute (OMC) team — a decentralized GPU network project on BNB Chain, currently in public testnet. We put that sentence first because it is the fact a reader most needs before deciding how much to trust a publication that covers decentralized compute. It is also repeated in the disclosure card at the foot of every article.
The same team also runs AITop, a comparison site for AI tools, and the OMC project site. The three are editorially separate: the forum writes about markets, not about our own roadmap.
What we cover
- Pricing Watch — what GPU hours actually cost across hyperscalers, neo-clouds and decentralized marketplaces, with dated snapshots and methodology notes.
- Deep Dives — the economics: training bills, depreciation math, power constraints, where DePIN demand is real.
- Hot Takes — short, arguable positions, labelled as such.
- Landscape & On-Chain Gaming — who is actually shipping, and what compute bills look like in games.
Editorial standards
- Numbers carry a date. A price table without a survey date is marketing, not journalism.
- Primary sources are linked — public pricing pages, order books, filings, documentation — so every figure can be checked at its origin.
- Claims about project status say the status: testnet is called testnet.
- When the data changes our mind, the article changes and the correction is visible in the piece.
- No paywall, no sponsored posts, no paid placements, no affiliate links.
How we handle the conflict of interest
We cover OMC and we cover OMC's competitors, sometimes in the same article. The rules we hold ourselves to: the operator relationship is disclosed on every page; project-status claims about OMC are held to the same "dated and sourced" standard as everyone else's; and criticism of OMC — there is plenty of it in the DePIN coverage — is published, not suppressed. If we ever fail that standard, the correction policy applies to us too, in public.
How the forum is funded
Advertising through Google AdSense, and nothing else. There are no affiliate links, no sponsored content and no paid reviews. The separation between advertising and editorial is described in the terms of use.
Comments
Comments run on GitHub Discussions via giscus and are the views of their authors. We moderate for spam and abuse; disagreement is not abuse. See the privacy policy for what that involves.
Corrections and contact
